As a former prosecutor with extensive trial and litigation experience in family matters, Leah has a unique perspective assisting clients through emotional divorce and custody disputes. Leah not only advocates for her client’s best interests, she appreciates the collateral consequences that they and their families may face as a result of their legal issues.

Prior to transitioning to family law, Leah was a senior trial attorney in the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She secured dozens of Grand Jury indictments and prosecuted many jury and bench trials to verdict.

Passionate about litigating matters involving intimate partner relationships, following the DA’s office Leah joined a prominent New York family and matrimonial law firm where she learned the intricacies of divorce litigation. She conducted several hearings and trials on complex family law matters including custody, child support, equitable distribution, grandparent and guardian petitions, and family offense petitions with orders of protection. Always working with her clients in an attempt to first reach an amicable resolution, Leah has successfully negotiated comprehensive settlements involving both diverse custody and financial issues.

Leah prides herself in guiding clients through the challenges of divorce with a sensitive yet logical tone. She often reminds her clients that this extremely difficult time in their lives will soon facilitate a new beginning.

Leah received her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School and her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Family Law Section, Brooklyn Bar Association, and Women’s Bar. Leah lives in Cobble Hill Brooklyn with her husband and their son.
